Crypto Market Sees TVL Uptick, Bitcoin Dips, and Major Fundraising Highlights

The cryptocurrency market is buzzing with activity today. The total TVL on L2 Beat has seen a slight uptick, moving from $7.54B yesterday to $7.64B today.

Among the top Layer 2 networks, Arbitrum leads with a TVL of $2.54B, up 1.05% from yesterday. Base follows with $1.43B, marking a 1.31% increase. Blast has $740.25M, up by 0.73%, while Scroll's TVL stands at $688.18M, a 1.94% rise. Optimism rounds out the top five with $580.78M, showing a 2.41% increase.

In the broader crypto market, Bitcoin is currently priced at $56,710, down from $57,126 yesterday. Ethereum also saw a dip, now at $2,330 compared to $2,363 yesterday.

On the fundraising front, today's total funding reached $19.85M. The biggest rounds include DRiP securing $8.00M, Moku raising $5.35M, and Blocksense Network gathering $4.00M. This brings the cumulative fundraising for the week to $29.85M.

Meanwhile, Singapore has issued a warning against trading Worldcoin accounts amid an ongoing probe into Sam Altman’s crypto project. The government is investigating suspected black-market trading of Worldcoin assets.

In another development, Japanese firm Metaplanet has acquired an additional 38.6 BTC for $2.2M, boosting its total Bitcoin holdings to 398.8 BTC. This purchase aligns with Metaplanet’s strategy to increase its Bitcoin reserves, following their August announcement to raise 10.08 billion yen for this purpose.

Core Scientific is uniquely positioned to scale AI data centers in the near term, according to a Bernstein report. The bitcoin miner benefits from available sites, power, less competition, and strong data center talent.

Polygon Labs has partnered with Fabric Cryptography to introduce verifiable processing units for zero-knowledge technology, enhancing the adoption of zero-knowledge proofs on the AggLayer.

Lastly, Aptos roguelike RPG Castile has launched its open beta, with developer Nytro Lab securing an additional $8 million in funding, bringing their total to $25 million.
